Did you know that basketball was born in the United States? In 1892, inside a gymnasium at Springfield College (then known as the International YMCA Training School), located in Springfield, Massachusetts, was a group of restless college students. Dr. James Naismith was tasked to find a creative and fun way to keep these college students fit. A short time later, the gym class met, and the teams were chosen with three centers, three forwards, and three guards per side. Two of the centers met at mid-court, Naismith tossed the ball, and the game of bastketball was born.

Who CCYBA Is

The purpose of the Cullman County Youth Basketball Association (CCYBA) is to provide children in grades 3rd through 6th with an organized league in which to play basketball throughout Cullman County.
